01 · Sports & Recreation

LGBTQ+ Sports & Recreation Orgs

Fourteen LGBTQ+ sports and recreation organizations across the Triangle, from large adult athletic leagues to women's rugby, sapphic hiking, climbing collectives, and campus Pride alliances. The top five are the highest-leverage 2026 partners.

Top 5 to bring in first

1
Stonewall Sports Raleigh
The largest LGBTQ+ adult athletic league in the Triangle, running kickball, dodgeball, cornhole, soccer, bowling and more across thousands of players. The natural anchor for any in-stadium LGBTQ+ programming.
stonewallraleigh.org · raleigh.info@stonewallsports.org
2
Durham Queer Sports
Pickup queer soccer plus six other sports. The on-pitch co-host for the September Pride on the Pitch popup alongside Stonewall Sports.

3
Eno River Rugby
Oldest women's rugby club in NC, established 1991. The only inclusive women's contact-sport partner in this market. Pride Night flag bearers, honorary captains, post-match social.
4
LGBT Center of Raleigh
Already a Pride Night partner. Expand the relationship: pre-match Pride Flow Yoga at WakeMed, co-presenter status on Aug 26, donation-matching path for the Stonewall fundraiser.

02 · Watch-Party Venues

Watch-Party Venues

Fifteen venues across queer-owned bars, breweries, lesbian bars, performance rooms, and family-friendly third spaces. Anchor + rotate model: keep one standing weekly home, layer themed queer-venue takeovers across identity moments.

Top 5 to call first

1
The Pinhook (Durham)
Queer-owned, 250-cap, 17 years of community programming. The single highest-leverage queer venue in the Triangle. Natural Kickoff Party + after-party host.
117 W Main St · thepinhook.com · @thepinhookdurham
2
Club ERA (Durham)
Durham's only explicitly gay/queer/trans nightclub, owned by Naomi Dix (also on the drag roster). One booking unlocks both a venue partner and a drag headliner. Saturday-night away-match doubleheader format.
305 S Dillard St · cluberadurham.com · @cluberadurham
3
Arcana Bar & Lounge (Durham)
Woman-owned lesbian bar — one of roughly 30 still operating in the entire country. Highest brand fit for an NWSL women's team. Book one signature event here in 2026 even if the room is small; the earned-media value alone justifies it.
331 W Main St · arcanadurham.com
4
Ponysaurus Brewing
Already runs PWHL women's hockey watch parties on a big-screen projector. They have the format dialed. Made the "Don't Be Mean to People" beer for HB2 — the values are public record.
Durham flagship + Raleigh taproom · ponysaurusbrewing.com
5
Flex Nightclub (Raleigh)
The de facto Raleigh queer anchor. Karaoke + drag stage + basement venue. Reliable for late-night after-parties and away-match watch nights.
615 W Hargett · flex-club.com

Notable additions beyond the top 5

Anchor + Rotate

Keep Durham Beer Garden as the standing year-round watch-party home. Layer 4 to 6 themed queer-venue watch parties across the season (Pinhook, Club ERA, Arcana, Ponysaurus, Flex), tied to identity moments (Pride Night, Trans Day of Visibility, Lesbian Visibility Week 4/26). Travel with a $1.2K to $1.8K projector + speaker kit so non-AV venues (Pinhook, Club ERA, Arcana, Velvet Hippo, Cocoa Cinnamon) are usable; the kit pays back over a season.

Section 3
03 · Drag Performers

Drag Performers

Seven Triangle performers across queens, kings, and theatrical drag. Spray J — a Black Southern drag king with a PhD and a Prince impersonator set — is the differentiator most other NWSL Pride Nights miss.

Top 7 to book for 2026

Stormie Daie
Durham, House of Coxx co-host. Comedy, theatrical, educational. Pride Night halftime MC. Recently profiled by WUNC.
Durham, House of Coxx + founder of Club ERA. Pre-game pitch host. One creator deal = a venue partnership.
Vivica C. Coxx
Drag matriarch of Durham, House of Coxx founder. Music Bingo IP plugs cleanly into in-stadium activation.
Spray J
Black Southern drag king, PhD, Prince impersonator. Critical king representation that other NWSL Pride Nights miss. Halftime king set.
Marsha Mellows
Bearded drag entertainer, Raleigh Pride co-host, Flip Phone Events. Strong corporate / event-MC fluency. Plaza host + chant-explainer TikTok cohost.
Saniya Chanel Iman
Raleigh / Legends
Miss Gay NC America brunch host, Legends regular. Pride Night anthem performance.
Aphasia Chancellor
Raleigh / Legends + Heights House
Rising Raleigh queen, Legends and Heights House regular. Affordable concourse activation + drag bingo host.

National-tier shortlist (future planning)

Anchor booking partner

House of Coxx (Durham)

The most prestigious drag family in the Triangle. Politically aligned with NWSL and women's-sports values. Email via @houseofcoxx or Vivica C. Coxx (@vivicaccoxx). One conversation books most of the top 7.

Section 4
04 · Creators & Influencers

Creators & Influencers

Eight Triangle-tied creators to bring on first — mostly small paid plus heavy contra (free tickets, suite access, tailgate F&B, Section Ambassador swag).

Top 8 to bring on first

Joy Wilkerson
Raleigh-Durham, 51K IG + Threads + TikTok. Foodie / lifestyle. "Best queer-owned eats before kickoff" reel. $400–$900 + tickets + tailgate F&B.
Durham. One deal = Durham Fruit / Club ERA venue partnership. Contra + small stipend.
LGBT Center of Raleigh
Already a Pride Night partner. Renew the relationship and add a creator-led content piece, not just logo placement.
Legends Nightclub
Single highest-volume LGBTQ+ NC TikTok account. Pay $300–$500 to host an official away-match watch party + Section Ambassador recruitment night.
Onya Nurve
Only macro option with verified Raleigh Pride history. Save for the Aug 26 Pride Night tentpole if budget supports a paid appearance.
Vivica C. Coxx
Durham drag matriarch + Music Bingo creator. Cross-functional: performer, host, content creator.
Marsha Mellows
High-energy on-camera presence, low cost. "Try chants with Marsha" TikTok format.
Triangle Queer Artist Collective
Smaller follower count but a multiplier — one deal opens dozens of artist creators in their network. Vendor booth + halftime mural live-painted at the gate.

Cash spend on the creator program

$4,500 to $11,500 across the season, depending on whether Onya Nurve is booked as the Aug 26 paid anchor. Everything else runs on contra.

Where this list could grow

We're still looking for a Triangle-tied lesbian/sapphic creator with real reach, a trans-led creator at scale, and an NWSL or women's-soccer-specific Triangle voice. We'll keep adding as we find them, and the team's existing relationships are the fastest way in.

  • Partner-of-the-week post. Spotlights one of the 14 sports orgs / 8 creators / 7 drag performers / 15 venues each week through season. Free content, deepening relationships.
